Job summary

Kyocera AVX Components (Penang) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for its manufacturing operations in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia. You will plan and undertake scheduled maintenance, respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, repair equipment, and supervise engineering staff to keep production running smoothly.

Candidates should hold a Diploma or Degree in mechanical engineering, bring at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, and communicate in English or Bahasa.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in mechanical engineering or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to write and communicate in English or Bahasa fluently; Japanese knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; PLC and electrical/mechanical knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns and diagnose faults.
• Repair equipment and supervise engineering staff.
• Lead project innovations on jig components, fixtures, or fittings.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Create maintenance procedures and maintain stock of supplies/equipment.
• Provide KPI updates (MTBF/MTBR/OEE) and support audits (IATF 16949).

Job Requirement

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Degree and above in mechanical, any relevant engineering field.

Minimum of 5 years experience in the manufacturing line

Should be able to write and communicate with English or Bahasa in a fluent manner. Proficient in Japanese will be a bonus.

Should be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Candidates with knowledge in PLC, electrical and mechanical fields will be the first to shortlist.
