Job summary

Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd, established since 2012, seeks an experienced L3 Support Mainframe Developer in Kuala Lumpur to support and develop Bankcard applications. Location is on-site in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a contract engagement and 3–5 years of experience in mainframe environments.

You will work on COBOL/CICS development, JCL batch processing, and mainframe data handling (VSAM). The role involves SDLC participation and collaboration with multiple teams to ensure stable production

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.
At least 4 years of hands-on experience developing applications using COBOL and CICS.
Strong experience with Mainframe z/OS environments.
Experience working with VSAM and sequential datasets.
Experience with Cardlink development and delivery.
Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
Good understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery practices.

Responsibilities

Deliver L3 production support and technical assistance for Mainframe/Cardlink applications.
Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications using COBOL and CICS.
Analyse production incidents, defects, and application issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing solutions.
Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing and application execution.
Utilise Easytrieve for reporting, data extraction, and mainframe processing requirements.
Work with VSAM and sequential datasets for application data processing and troubleshooting.
Support application testing, deployment, release, and delivery activities.
Participate in SDLC activities including requirements analysis, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
Collaborate with QA, application support, business, infrastructure, and other technical teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and application specifications.
Ensure production changes are implemented safely and in accordance with established controls and procedures.
