Job summary

DXC Technology in Malaysia is seeking a COBOL Developer to support application development, enhancement, and production support within a mainframe environment. The role involves improving configurations, developing new features, and ensuring stability and performance.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of development experience, strong mainframe knowledge, and hands-on COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and TSO. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in IT is required, ITIL is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology or related field.
• 6+ years of development experience in COBOL/mainframe.
• Experience as a technical lead is a plus.
• Finance, banking, or insurance sector experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and TSO.
• Familiarity with IBM RTC tools is a plus.
• Basic SQL knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Enhance system configurations and develop new features for COBOL/mainframe apps.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and identify root causes of production issues.
• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Maintain code quality and automate testing processes.
• Document development and production support procedures.
• Keep documentation up to date and optimized for efficiency.
