Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Process Improvement Engineer to drive optimization across machining and manufacturing operations in Malaysia. The role focuses on reducing cycle times, increasing throughput, and enhancing product quality through hands-on CAD/CAM work and smarter layouts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Lean manufacturing background, 5–10 years of relevant experience, and proven ability to lead cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Systems Engineering with manufacturing focus.
• 5–10 years engineering experience in manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on CAD/CAM experience with CNC machining.
• Experience with fixture design and manufacturing layout.
• Strong Lean and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze data and derive actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and optimization projects across machining and manufacturing operations.
• Analyze processes to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and improve quality and cost.
• Develop and implement improved workflows and process sequences.
• Design and optimize production lines, cells, and layouts for better flow.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement capacity-enhancing solutions.
• Evaluate automation opportunities including robotics and inspection systems.
• Create fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids to improve repeatability.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma to reduce waste and defects.
• Use data and time studies to prioritize opportunities and drive sustainment.
• Lead projects from problem definition to implementation and validation.
