Job summary

Ichor Systems is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to join the Manufacturing Team in Shah Alam, Malaysia. The role involves setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines and interpreting engineering drawings to produce high-precision components for the semiconductor industry.

You will train junior machinists, troubleshoot machining issues, and perform routine preventative maintenance. The 12-hour day/night shift may require weekend overtime to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in machining, engineering or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of machining experience in CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Experience in high-precision or high-mix/low-volume environments preferred.
• Mentor junior machinists and fitters.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines with minimal supervision.
• Install, set up, and adjust tooling offsets, fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining part quality.
• Load programs and prove out new FAI jobs.
• Troubleshoot machining issues with supervisors and QA inspectors.
• Read and interpret drawings and engineering documentation.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other tools.
• Provide on-the-job training to junior machinists and fitters.
• Perform routine PM on machines.

Senior CNC Machinist

We are looking for a Senior CNC Machinist to join our Manufacturing Team in Shah Alam, Malaysia and support the production of high-precision components for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC machines, interpret engineering drawings, perform precision inspection, and troubleshoot machining issues. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills and gain valuable experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This is a 12-hour day/night shift with flexibility to support overtime and weekend work when required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines with minimal supervision according to Work Instructions and Tooling Lists.
• Install, set up, and adjust tooling offsets, fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining consistent part quality.
• Load programs and safely prove out new FAI jobs.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and work with supervisors, CAD/CAM programmers, and Quality Inspectors to resolve problems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to junior CNC machinists and fitters.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines.

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in machining, engineering or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of machining experience in CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis.
• Strong CNC setup and operating skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Experience in high-precision or high-mix/low-volume environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior machinists and fitters.
• Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Heidenhain, DMG Mori, or similar controls is preferred.
• Able to commit to a 12-hour day/night shift, including weekends, and support overtime when required.
