M&E Drafter (Mechanical & Electrical Drafter)
The role involves producing detailed CAD/BIM drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and supporting engineers during the design, construction, and documentation phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise mechanical and electrical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD/BIM software.
- Produce detailed layouts, schematic diagrams, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, local building regulations, and company drafting standards.
- Assist engineers in developing design concepts and translating engineering calculations into technical drawings.
- Review and update drawings based on site conditions, client comments, and engineering revisions.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers, document control, and version management.
- Attend coordination meetings and assist with resolving drawing conflicts or clashes.
- Support site teams by providing drawing clarifications and revisions when required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in M&E drafting or building services drafting (fresh graduates may be considered for junior roles).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) and/or electrical systems (power, lighting, ELV, and communication systems).
- Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and construction practices.
