Job summary

PLUS Malaysia is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager for Electrical & Mechanical (M&E) projects in Malaysia. The role requires a degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering and at least 10 years of project planning, design, costing and supervision experience.

Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, reviewing designs, coordinating with consultants and contractors, managing documentation, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Degree Holder in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• At least 10 years involve project management, supervision, designing and costing for relevant electrical related projects.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Design: Develop detailed project plans including scope, timelines, budgets and resources for utilities and M&E works.
• Review engineering designs, drawings and specifications for utility systems and M&E installations.
• Ensure all designs comply with building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Define project tasks and resource requirements.
• Prepare and manage project documentation and specifications related to M&E systems.
• Construction Management: Monitor construction activities to ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders on construction matters.
• Review Contractor’s Method Statements, Work Programmes and Test Results.
• Attend progress meetings and identify constraints with corrective measures.
• Ensure site operations comply with safety regulations and protocols.
• Technical Support: Provide guidance to construction teams for utilities and M&E installations.
• Assist in resolving engineering challenges during construction.
• Ensure operational integrity and safety of all systems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project records and submit progress reports to management and stakeholders.
• Quality Control and Safety: Enforce quality control and safety on-site; address installation defects or non-compliance.
• Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with Clients, Consultants, Contractors and stakeholders.
• Budget and Cost Management: Monitor expenditures and manage budget; identify potential overruns.
• Risk management: Identify risks and develop mitigation plans; ensure contingency plans.
