About the role

YUEN TUNG PREMIX SDN BHD is seeking a Senior Logistics Executive to join our operations team in Perak. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing and coordinating our logistics and transportation activities to support the efficient distribution of premix and construction materials.

As a Senior Logistics Executive, you will play a key role in planning and managing transportation schedules, coordinating with drivers, customers and internal teams, monitoring delivery operations, and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of products from our operations to customer sites. You will also be responsible for improving logistics efficiency, managing transportation costs and ensuring compliance with operational and safety requirements.

Reporting to senior management, this role will contribute directly to operational efficiency, cost optimisation, service reliability and customer satisfaction, while supporting the company's continued growth in the construction materials industry.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily logistics operations involving premix plants, quarries, project sites, transportation activities, and material deliveries.

Plan, schedule, and optimize transportation resources, including tipper trucks and other heavy vehicles, to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

Monitor and manage fleet operations, vehicle utilization, driver performance, and transport contractor activities to maintain operational efficiency.

Coordinate closely with Production, Sales Departments to ensure delivery requirements are fulfilled in accordance with customer and project schedules.

Monitor transportation costs, fuel consumption, delivery performance, and other key operational indicators, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Investigate and resolve logistics, transportation, and delivery-related issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.

Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety requirements, company policies, and operational procedures.

Coordinate and monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, repairs, and breakdown recovery activities to ensure fleet availability and reliability.

Provide guidance, training, and operational support to Logistics Executives, transport coordinators, drivers, and other logistics personnel.

Prepare and review logistics reports, operational records, and performance analyses for management review and decision-making.

Assist Management in logistics planning, fleet optimization initiatives, budgeting, and operational cost-control programs.

Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, fleet management, or operations within the premix, quarry, construction materials, manufacturing, or related industries.

Proven experience in coordinating and managing heavy vehicle fleets, including tipper trucks and other commercial vehicles.

Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities and meet delivery schedules effectively.

Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to supervise logistics personnel and collaborate effectively with internal departments, contractors, and customers.

Familiarity with transportation regulations, heavy vehicle operations, fleet maintenance practices, logistics operational procedures. and safety requirements within the construction materials or related industries.

Ability to work independently, make operational decisions, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Possess a positive work attitude, be willing to assist colleagues, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Willingness to travel to project sites, plants, and other operational locations as required.

Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain management or a related discipline are preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Logistics applications and data analysis tools
