Senior Lead QA & Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead QA & Test Automation Engineer to lead our Quality Assurance and Test Automation practice, ensuring quality is embedded throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

In this role, you will drive testing strategy, governance, and automation initiatives across web, mobile, API, data, and cloud-based solutions. You will champion automation-first testing, CI/CD quality practices, and continuous improvement while leading QA teams and collaborating closely with business and technology stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering secure, reliable, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions through strong quality engineering leadership and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & STLC Management

Lead end-to-end STLC activities, including requirements analysis, test planning, execution, defect management, and test closure.

Define testing strategies, plans, scenarios, test cases, and release readiness criteria.

Manage testing scope, resources, environments, risks, and quality assurance standards.

Ensure test artefacts, evidence, and traceability documentation are maintained.

Define and maintain QA strategies, frameworks, standards, and best practices.

Serve as the SME for QA and Test Automation while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Test Automation & Quality Engineering

Lead the organisation's test automation and quality engineering strategy.

Design, implement, and govern enterprise automation frameworks and standards.

Increase automation coverage and integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Monitor automation effectiveness, quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Quality Reporting

Partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Communicate testing progress, quality status, risks, and release readiness.

Provide quality reporting, defect analysis, and facilitate quality reviews and defect triage activities.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, coach, and develop QA Engineers and Test Analysts.

Build team capabilities in automation, modern testing practices, AI-assisted testing, and quality engineering.

Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and continuous learning culture.

Improve testing processes, frameworks, tools, and quality metrics.

Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted testing solutions.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience & Expertise

Minimum 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering, including at least 3 years leading QA teams.

Proven experience managing end-to-end testing across SDLC and STLC, including test strategy, planning, execution, defect management, reporting, and test closure.

Experience supporting enterprise web, mobile (iOS/Android), API, integration, cloud, data, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.

Strong expertise in test automation frameworks (Selenium/Playwright and C#) and CI/CD integration using Git-based workflows.

Hands-on experience with functional and non-functional testing, including regression, integration, performance, security, and reliability testing.

Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, Continuous Testing, TDD, and BDD practices.

Experience with Azure DevOps, Test Plans, Pipelines, Jira, or similar quality management platforms.

Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud-native applications, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Experience preparing test strategies, test plans, quality metrics, and executive-level reporting.

Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and emerging quality engineering technologies.

Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and self-motivation.
