Job summary

Good co India in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned QA/Test Engineering Lead to drive testing across web, API, mobile, and backend systems. You will shape test strategy, establish automation standards, and oversee release quality.

You will mentor QA/Test Engineers, lead planning and risk assessment, and collaborate with Development, DevOps, Product, Security, and Architecture to raise software quality and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 5–10 years in software testing with leadership experience.
• Strong programming in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on with API, web, mobile, and backend testing.
• Experience designing test automation frameworks and quality gates.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead test engineering and QA with automation and manual testing.

• Evaluate testing tools and technologies and drive automation and process improvements.
• Manage, mentor, and develop QA/Test Engineers and SDETs.
• Track quality KPIs, manage vendors/budgets where required, and provide technical leadership to testing initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in software testing, QA, test automation, SDET, or test engineering, including leadership experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, or Cucumber.
• Hands-on experience with API, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance, and automation testing.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
• Experience designing test automation frameworks, reusable components, continuous testing, and quality gates.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC/STLC, defect management, test metrics, and release management.
• Excellent team management, mentoring, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• ISTQB, cloud, Agile, DevOps, or Kubernetes certifications are an advantage.
