Job summary

USER Experience Researchers is seeking a seasoned Test Lead to manage and deliver complex testing programs across multiple teams. You will design test strategies, lead end-to-end testing activities, and coordinate UAT as a single program SPOC, ensuring high quality releases.

The role requires hands-on testing with Selenium and experience using QC/JIRA/RTC/RQM, plus SQL data checks. You will work closely with developers, analysts, and project managers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
• Hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing approaches.
• Proven track record across complex IT programs and projects.
• Experience coordinating UAT and defect management.
• Strong understanding of test life cycle and defect life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end testing activities for complex IT programs while meeting timelines.
• Develop test strategies, plans, scenarios, and cases from requirements.
• Perform Functional, System, SIT, E2E, Automation, and API testing.
• Coordinate UAT planning, execution, defect tracking, and stakeholder coordination.

Job description

The role will be responsible for managing and delivering complex testing programs within agreed timelines, coordinating testing activities across multiple teams and domains, and serving as the primary testing point of contact for program stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end testing activities for complex IT programs and projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications.
• Perform and oversee Functional Testing, System Testing (ST), System Integration Testing (SIT), End-to-End (E2E) Testing, Automation Testing, and API Testing.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including planning, execution, defect tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
• Coordinate testing activities across different applications, teams, domains, and project workstreams.
• Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) at the program level for testing-related activities and interactions with testing teams and stakeholders.
• Review functional requirements, business requirements, and technical design documents to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Review, write, execute, and maintain test cases and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Lead defect management activities, including defect identification, reporting, prioritization, tracking, retesting, and closure.
• Manage and monitor the end-to-end testing and defect life cycles.
• Utilize test automation tools such as Selenium and support both manual and automated testing activities.
• Utilize test and defect management tools such as HP Quality Center (QC), JIRA, IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC), and Rational Quality Manager (RQM).
• Conduct and coordinate PST (Production Simulation Testing) activities.
• Create and execute SQL queries for data validation and testing purposes.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to resolve testing issues and ensure successful releases.
• Provide regular testing status updates, including test progress, defect status, risks, issues, dependencies, and overall test readiness.
• Identify testing risks and dependencies and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure appropriate test coverage, traceability, and adherence to testing standards and processes.
• Support continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and automation practices.
• Support or coordinate Performance/Stress Testing and Security Testing activities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance, with strong experience in complex IT projects or programs.
• Strong experience in both Manual and Automation Testing.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium or similar test automation tools.
• Proven experience in Functional Testing, ST, SIT, E2E Testing, Automation Testing, and API Testing.
• Experience in UAT coordination and management.
• Experience conducting PST (Production Simulation Testing).
• Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
• Strong experience in test planning, test case design, test execution, defect management, and test reporting.
• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test and defect management tools such as JIRA, HP Quality Center (QC), RTC, and/or RQM.
• Strong ability to understand and interpret business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents.
• Experience in reviewing and validating test scripts and ensuring adequate test coverage.
• Strong experience coordinating testing activities across multiple teams, systems, and domains.
• Ability to manage and deliver complex testing programs within defined timelines.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to act as a testing SPOC at program level.
• Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and coordination skills.
