Job summary

BTI Executive Search is seeking an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a dynamic technology team working on large-scale, secure financial systems. You will design, develop and maintain backend services with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus, and build microservices with REST/SOAP APIs.

You will deploy cloud-native applications across AWS, Azure or OpenShift, using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, while emphasising security, observability and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java / microservices / API development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Cloud-native development and API-first architecture experience.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar databases.
• Strong security knowledge: OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secrets management.
• Observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, AppDynamics or Elastic APM.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot / Quarkus.
• Build and enhance microservices and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Work with databases, messaging platforms and enterprise API integrations.
• Develop cloud-native applications and deploy across AWS, Azure / OpenShift.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Implement security, testing, monitoring and performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, database, messaging and other teams.
• Contribute to Agile delivery and mentor team members.
• Troubleshoot complex issues through debugging and log analysis.
