Job summary

BTI Executive Search is seeking an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a dynamic technology team working on large-scale, secure financial systems. You will design, develop and maintain backend services with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus, and build microservices with REST/SOAP APIs.

You will deploy cloud-native applications across AWS, Azure or OpenShift, using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines, while emphasising security, observability and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java / microservices / API development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Cloud-native development and API-first architecture experience.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar databases.
• Strong security knowledge: OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secrets management.
• Observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, AppDynamics or Elastic APM.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues through debugging, log analysis and system thinking

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of experience in Java / microservices / API development
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus
• Strong experience in cloud‑native development and API‑first architecture
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar databases
• Strong understanding of backend/API security — OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secrets management
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, AppDynamics or Elastic APM
• Exposure to GenAI / Agentic AI tools and an AI‑first mindset
• Experience working in BFSI / regulated environments is highly preferred
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
• Comfortable working across both technical delivery and project management

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
