Job summary

Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu invites a Senior IT Officer to ensure smooth operation of hotel management systems including OPERA PMS, POS, and PABX. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and secure systems across departments, supporting the IT function with network and infrastructure tasks.

The role requires 1–3 years in IT support within hospitality, a Diploma/Degree in IT, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
• 1–3 years in IT support or hospitality systems environment preferred
• Hotel Systems: OPERA PMS, POS systems, PABX, Office 365 familiarization

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for hotel management systems (OPERA PMS, POS, PABX, and other applications).
• Troubleshoot, maintain and elevate system-related issues across departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Reservations).

Job Summary

• System Operations & Support
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for hotel management systems, especially OPERA PMS, POS, PABX, and other business applications.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and elevate system-related issues across user departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Reservations, etc.).
  • Assist in user account administration, access rights management, and system security.
• Network Infrastructure
  • Perform hands-on network support, including configuration and monitoring of VLAN, firewalls, switches, and access points.
  • Support the stability and security of wired and wireless networks in guest and staff areas.
  • Maintain structured cabling and IDF/MDF room hygiene.
• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Participate in routine IT system checks and ensure IT assets are inventoried and well maintained.
  • Log, document, and follow up on all reported issues using the internal helpdesk system.
  • Assist in patch updates, system rollouts, backups, and antivirus control.
• Projects & Upgrades
  • Support system enhancement projects, vendor coordination, and rollouts under the direction of the Director of IT.
• Guest & Staff Support
  • Respond to guest tech-related queries (in-room internet) as part of service recovery and IT experience support.
  • Deliver effective communication across all user departments.

Job Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field
• Experience: 1–3 years in IT support or hospitality systems environment preferred
• Hotel Systems: Familiarity with OPERA PMS, POS systems (e.g., Oracle, CSS, POS), PABX, Office 365
• Networking: Solid understanding of VLANs, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, structured cabling
• Technical: Hardware/software troubleshooting, basic server knowledge, printer/network device support
• Others: Fluent in English; strong documentation and user support skills. Chinese is an added advantage.
