Job summary

Modern Smart Design Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Interior Designer (Design Manager) to lead a team of 3–5 designers on healthcare, corporate office and retail projects in Malaysia. You will drive concept development, drawings, detailing and client presentations from concept to completion.

You have a diploma or degree in interior design or related field, 5+ years of experience, and at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of interior design experience.
• At least 1 year experience leading or supervising a design team.
• Proven experience in Commercial Design & Build projects; healthcare projects a plus.
• Proficient in industry-standard interior design and visualization software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 interior designers and junior designers.
• Manage multiple commercial interior projects from concept to completion.
• Produce and review design concepts, full set drawings, detailing and BQ.
• Conduct client presentations and design discussions.

Senior Interior Designer (Design Manager)

We are a commercial interior design & build company specializing in healthcare, corporate office and retail projects. With over 200 completed healthcare projects across Malaysia, we deliver end-to-end solutions from design and project management to construction. Join our growing team and be part of creating inspiring commercial spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of 3 to 5 Interior Designers and Junior Designers.

Manage multiple commercial interior projects from concept development to project completion.

Produce and review design concepts, full set drawings, detailing and BQ.

Conduct client presentations and design discussions.

Coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution and timely delivery of projects.

Conduct site visits and provide design support when necessary.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of interior design experience.

At least 1 year experience leading or supervising a design team.

Proven experience in Commercial Design & Build projects, experience in healthcare projects an added advantage.

Proficient in industry-standard interior design and visualization software.

Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, and detailing.

Excellent presentation, communication, and client management skills.
