Job summary

Mahajaya in Malaysia seeks an Inspector of Works to oversee site quality and project execution on residential developments. You will ensure workmanship, materials, and compliance with drawings while supervising QAQC and defect management.

The role requires reviewing technical drawings, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining detailed progress reports. A civil/ Construction degree and 5+ years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Certificate, Diploma, or degree in Civil Eng/Construction.
• Minimum 5 years in landed residential property development projects.
• Experience in site supervision, QAQC, defect management, and contractor coordination.
• Proficiency in reviewing/referencing construction drawings; AutoCAD familiarity.
• Registration with IOW or BEM advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect ongoing construction works for workmanship, materials, and quantities against approved standards.
• Ensure compliance with drawings and SPA drawings; verify defect rectification.
• Witness and validate testing and site inspections.
• Maintain accurate site progress documentation and prepare technical progress reports.
• Identify unsafe practices and ensure QAQC compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve design discrepancies.
• Track outstanding coordination issues to avoid delays.
