Job summary

Kossan Rubber Industries Berhad is seeking a Server Administrator to manage and optimize our physical and virtual server environments in a demanding enterprise IT setting. You will administer Active Directory, group policies, backups, and implement robust DR plans.

The role covers design, deployment, and ongoing tuning of server infrastructures, including VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, SAN storage, and HCI, with cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
• Experience supporting end users and providing technical assistance in enterprise IT.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and HCI technologies.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field; IT certifications would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Administer infrastructure services such as Active Directory, group policy, backup and restoration.
• Contributing to the design, implementation, and enhancement of server setups (physical & virtual) and configurations.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
• Manage and optimize VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, SAN Storage and HCI platforms.
• Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventive measures.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
• Collaborate with network & application teams for integrated infrastructure support.
• Develop and implement DR and business continuity plans.
• Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams.
