Job summary

Johnson Matthey Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Malaysia to drive virtualization and enterprise infrastructure. You will design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, and Azure Local, while maintaining Windows/Linux servers, storage, and DR capabilities.

The role requires 5+ years of hands‑on IT infrastructure experience, strong automation skills, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

5+ years hands‑on IT infrastructure experience with virtualization and platform administration.
Experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V including clustered deployments.
Strong Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) skills.
Scripting and automation with PowerShell to improve ops.
Solid storage knowledge (SAN/NAS) and virtualization networking basics.
Experience with infrastructure monitoring (vROps, SolarWinds) and on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, Azure Local).
Maintain Windows and Linux servers: patching, configuration, upgrades, capacity planning.
Oversee data centre operations: physical servers, racks, SAN/NAS, backup/DR systems.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure security baselines and availability across envs.
Collaborate with network, security, and app teams and maintain documentation; participate in on‑call rotations.
