Job summary

Tranglo is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance our Windows and Linux environments in Kuala Lumpur. You will manage, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise systems, participate in project design and implementation, and ensure high availability and security across the IT stack.

The role requires strong collaboration with internal teams and vendors. Responsibilities include on-call support, documentation, and proactive risk mitigation, with opportunities to work on

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, firewalls, virtualization, cloud computing and Microsoft SQL Server databases is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, Active Directory, DNS, GPO, and SSL/TLS certificates.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support and coordinate with Infrastructure functions (Systems, Networks, SQL Server).
• Manage, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot existing IT systems and infrastructure for availability, performance and security.
• Participate in planning, design, and implementation of new IT infrastructure projects.
• Identify risks and provide effective troubleshooting and sustainable solutions.
• Explore and recommend new technologies to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, GPO, IIS, DFS, failover clustering).
• Maintain technical documentation and procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to resolve issues and support projects.
• Be available for 24x7 standby/on-call as required.

Job description

• Provide day-to-day operational support and coordinate with various Infrastructure functions, including Systems, Networks, and Databases such as Microsoft SQL Server.


• Manage, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot existing IT systems and infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, reliability and security.


• Participate in the planning, design, implementation, and technical discussions for new and upcoming IT infrastructure projects.


• Proactively identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, performance issues, and operational gaps, and provide effective troubleshooting and sustainable solutions.


• Explore, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and solutions that can improve the reliability, security, performance and efficiency of the organization's IT infrastructure.


• Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Objects (GPO), IIS, DFS Replication (DFSR), Windows Server Failover Clustering, and related infrastructure services.


• Maintain appropriate technical documentation, system configurations, operational procedures and troubleshooting records.


• Work closely with internal teams, vendors and technology partners to resolve infrastructure issues and support project implementation.


• Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by Infrastructure management.


• Demonstrate strong ownership and accountability for assigned systems, tasks, and incidents, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution.


• Participate in 24x7 standby/on-call support based on defined job rosters and respond appropriately to infrastructure escalations outside normal working hours.


• Be available to report onsite at the datacenter at short notice, including during nights, weekends and public holidays when operational or emergency situations require physical intervention.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux operating systems in enterprise environments, including on-premises, virtualized, and/or cloud infrastructure. Experience with enterprise Windows Servers, firewalls, virtualization, cloud computing and Microsoft SQL Server databases is an advantage


• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including networking, virtualization, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS server, GPO, RAID, IIS, DFS Replication, SSL/TLS certificates, Linux, Microsoft Azure cloud.


• Knowledge of scripting PowerShell, Bash (Linux) and Windows batch files


• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching concepts, firewall configurations, and network troubleshooting.


• Experience in implementing and managing backup solutions and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity, business continuity and timely recovery from system failures.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, accountability and commitment to completing assigned tasks and resolving issues.


• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies and take on new challenges. Good teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, management, vendors and technology partners.


• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.


• Willingness and ability to participate in 24x7 standby/on-call support according to the defined job roster.
