Job summary

OCBC Malaysia in Cyberjaya seeks a Senior System Engineer for the AS400/IBM i environment, including storage and SAN management. You will ensure system health, perform patches, backups, and DR exercises, and drive automation initiatives.

A strong hands-on background with IBM i systems and related tools is required. The role involves capacity planning, change requests, and disaster recovery testing, with on-site work in Cyberjaya.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on IBM i (AS400) experience.
• At least 2 years in storage and SAN products.
• Proven experience with VTL technologies.
• Experience with IBM i PowerHA desirable.
• Familiarity with IBM Storage DS/FlashSystems a plus.
• Knowledge of IBM i CL, SQL, programming, Ansible or AI-based automation a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain health of core banking IBM i environment (AS400), storage arrays, SAN switches, and key managers.
• Conduct regular health checks on hardware and operating systems for reliability.
• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software/hardware issues to minimize downtime.
• Plan patch management for IBM i products (PTF, VIOS, Copy Services, ConnectDirect, Guardium KLM).
• Manage OS installations, restorations, and upgrades for IBM i.
