Job summary
OCBC Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled AS400 (IBM i) System Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services team. You will own the core banking system environment, including IBM i, storage, SAN switches, and encryption key management, ensuring system integrity and high performance.
The role demands proactive problem solving, strong technical background, and meticulous change control across patch management, DR exercises, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7+ years hands-on IBM i (AS400) experience.
- 2+ years storage and SAN product experience.
- Experience with VTL technologies.
- Familiarity with IBM i PowerHA is desirable.
- Knowledge of IBM i CL, SQL, programming, or AI automation tools is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Ovesee health of the core banking system environment (IBM i, storage, SAN, keys).
- Conduct system health checks to ensure performance and reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve software/hardware issues to minimize downtime.
- Plan patch management for IBM i products (PTF, VIOS, CMS, ConnectDirect, Guardium).
- Manage OS installations, restorations, and upgrades for IBM i.
- Coordinate disaster recovery exercises and capacity planning.
- Document configurations, standards and policies.
