Job summary

PESTEC International Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is hiring a Safety & Health Officer to implement and maintain HSE programmes across projects and workplaces. You will ensure regulatory compliance, promote a strong safety culture and minimise workplace risks through close collaboration with project teams.

The role requires Green Book with DOSH, 6+ years’ safety experience (3+ years in management), and strong English communication. Join a company with four major business segments in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/ Degree/ tertiary education in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Green Book registered with DOSH is compulsory.
• Minimum 6 years and above of experience in safety supervision and implementation.
• At least 3 years of managerial capacity in construction safety supervision and implementation.
• Knowledge of construction terminology and environment management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with health and safety management software.
• Good command of written and spoken English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of the OSH Act 1994, Factory and Machinery Act 1967, and related laws.
• Able to conduct safety training, coaching and internal awareness programmes.
• Strong knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement and review HSE management system to comply with statutory requirements.
• Ensure effective construction planning activity conforms to ISO management standards.
• Promote client requirements and HSE practices across the company.
• Coordinate Management Review System and HSE committee activities.
• Represent the company on HSE matters with auditors, clients, and subcontractors.
• Organize site management walkabouts and provide interpretation of HSE requirements.
• Coordinate policies and ensure adherence by relevant parties.
• Provide guidance on the HSE management system and incident investigations.
• Assist with inspections, hazard identifications, risk assessments and JSA.
• Prepare and submit accurate HSE statistics and reports to management.
