Job summary

Takaful Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Group Reporting leader to oversee the preparation and submission of consolidated financial statements, statutory reports and Bursa Malaysia disclosures. You will coordinate taxation matters and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely, accurate reporting and compliance with MFRS 17.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in financial reporting within financial services, with strong leadership and governance experience across multiple funds or units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting within Takaful, Insurance or Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in MFRS 17 and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of taxation, financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and submission of consolidated Group financial statements and statutory reporting.
• Oversee the Group's taxation matters, including tax planning and compliance.
• Coordinate annual external audit process and Annual Report delivery.
• Act as primary liaison with auditors, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices (MFRS 17).
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Group Reporting team.
• Review and analyze financial information across business units to support decision-making.
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, controls, and reporting processes.
• Establish, review and enhance SOPs and workflows to strengthen governance.
