Takaful Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Group Reporting leader to oversee the preparation and submission of consolidated financial statements, statutory reports and Bursa Malaysia disclosures. You will coordinate taxation matters and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely, accurate reporting and compliance with MFRS 17.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in financial reporting within financial services, with strong leadership and governance experience across multiple funds or units.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting within Takaful, Insurance or Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in MFRS 17 and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of taxation, financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.

Lead and oversee the Group Reporting function to ensure the timely preparation and submission of accurate financial reports, statutory accounts, Bursa Malaysia disclosures, and tax-related matters. The role serves as a key liaison with external auditors and drives compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and best practices, including MFRS 17.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review and submission of consolidated Group financial statements, management reports, Bursa Malaysia disclosures and statutory reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
• Oversee the Group's taxation matters, including tax planning, compliance, tax returns and coordination with external tax agents.
• Manage and coordinate the annual external audit process and ensure the timely completion of the Annual Report.
• Act as the primary liaison with auditors, regulators and other external stakeholders on financial reporting and compliance matters.
• Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices, including MFRS 17.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Group Reporting team, including resource planning, performance management and talent development.
• Review and analyse financial information across business units and funds to support management decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvements in accounting systems, financial controls, policies and reporting processes.
• Establish, review, and enhance standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting within the Takaful, Insurance, or Financial Services industry.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in MFRS 17 and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of taxation, financial reporting standards and statutory compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and financial reporting systems, including General Ledger (GL) platforms.
• Strong analytical, leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities and drive process improvements in a dynamic environment.
