Job summary

Bruker Corporation in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Commodity Manager to develop and execute global procurement strategies for core materials, services and freight, aligning with manufacturing and NPI needs.

You will lead a buyers team, negotiate with suppliers, and drive cost, quality and delivery improvements while collaborating with product management and engineering. Proficiency in SAP and analytics tools is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, engineering strongly preferred.
• 12+ years in manufacturing with 10+ years in purchasing or supply chain.
• 5+ years of strategic supplier sourcing analyses and execution.
• APICS or CPM Certification strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience working with SAP/ERP and analytics tools (PowerBI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of best practices and cross-functional integration.
• Experience buying electrical commodities, machined parts, sheet metal and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute commodity strategies leveraging supplier capabilities to meet quality, cost, delivery and service targets.
• Lead a commodity team to optimize and rationalize supply chain, including supplier identification, qualification and sourcing.
• Direct global procurement of materials, services and freight for development, NPI and mass production.
• Develop supplier relationships to support short- and long-term business needs.
• Coordinate with product management and production planning to meet delivery and inventory targets.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and systems for procurement.
• Coordinate supplier visits, audits and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assess supplier performance gaps and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineering to source new suppliers and technologies, and resolve technical issues.
• Negotiate and create global supply agreements with key partners.
• Manage and develop the commodity team to achieve objectives and high performance.
• Track KPIs and generate analyses using SAP and Excel; support related SAP modules.
