Job summary

Brooks Automation, a global leader in automation for the semiconductor industry, seeks a Senior Global Commodity Manager – Mechanical based in Malaysia. The role drives regional commodity strategies and negotiates key supplier contracts to secure quality, cost efficiency and supply continuity across Malaysia, SE Asia, and China.

Travel within the region is required; hybrid work model available with some in-office and remote arrangements.

Qualifications

BS or BA in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a technical discipline; PMP preferred.
5+ years in strategic sourcing, commodity management and cross-functional supplier initiatives in global manufacturing.
Fluency in English; Mandarin Chinese or Bahasa Malaysia a plus.
Experience building supplier networks in Malaysia, SE Asia and China; strong negotiation and cost-management skills.
Lean Six-Sigma training/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes regional commodity strategies across metals machining, sheet metal fabrication, coatings, electronic components, cables and gas distribution components used in SEMI industry.
Leads strategic negotiations for pricing, terms, contracts, capacity commitments and long-term supplier agreements.
Serves as senior commercial owner for supplier escalations with cross-functional teams.
End-to-end sourcing from RFQ through PO placement, delivery, and supplier performance management.
Engages suppliers across Malaysia, SE Asia, China and other regions to ensure high-quality materials and reliable delivery.
