Job summary

Hapag Lloyd in Malaysia is seeking a diligent GL Accountant to manage end-to-end GL processes, banking operations, and monthly/annual closings. You will update the general ledger, maintain fixed assets, and assist in tax filings and statutory reporting.

The role requires 3–5 years of GL experience, SAP FI/CO proficiency, and strong attention to detail. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is essential, with ACCA/CPA/MIA recommended. This is a full-time Kuala Lumpur position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end GL processes.
• Experience with SAP FI/CO.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and cash position monitoring (CPR).

Responsibilities

• Provide support in banking, cash flow monitoring, GL updating, and fixed asset registers.
• Handle agent settlements, intercompany invoices/work, and posting of accounting documents.
• Assist in annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly reporting
• Prepare financial statements per local standards and tax requirements.
• Monthly reconciliations for prepayments, deposits, provisions and accruals.
• Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing and reporting.
• Assist in quarterly/annual corporate tax filings, indirect taxes, and audits.
• Prepare CPR and remittance of funds; monitor cash flow and liquidity.
• Record cash/bank transactions in GL; perform bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset register and coordinate annual asset count.
• Coordinate ICCL and identify improvements for controls.
• Support SAP system maintenance, upgrades, and monitoring.
