Job summary

Wilhelmsen group is seeking a GL Accountant, FSS to oversee end-to-end GL activities and ensure accurate, compliant reporting for Group and statutory purposes. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur with a hybrid work arrangement.

You will manage stakeholder relationships, support statutory reporting, and lead monthly journal entries while coordinating audits and asset records. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 2–5 years of GL/accounting experience, strong English,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–5 years of finance accounting and reporting experience.
• Experience in GL in SSC/BPO is advantageous.
• Excel and enterprise systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle) proficiency.
• Excellent English; additional languages advantageous.
• High accountability, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for a GL Accountant to oversee end-to-end GL activities and ensure accurate, compliant reporting for Group and statutory purposes.

Who you will report to

The position reports to GL Team Leader.

What you will work on

• Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Support statutory reporting and tax filings (where required)
• Handle end-to-end GL bookkeeping and monthly journal entries
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing
• Perform account reconciliations, analysis, and P&L / balance sheet reviews
• Monitor cash flow forecasting with the Treasury team
• Coordinate internal and external audits
• Maintain fixed asset and investment records

Qualifications you have for this role

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
• 2-5 experience in finance accounting and reporting
• Previous experience in a similar General Ledger environment within an organisation or SSC/BPO environment is advantageous
• Computer literacy – Excel, Word and other large enterprise systems advantageous (e.g. IFS, SAP, Oracle etc.)
• Excellent English skills required, written and verbal. Additional European / Middle Eastern / Asian language(s) skills will be advantageous
• High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency
