Job summary

Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme seeks an experienced Manager of Accounting to Reporting (AtR) to ensure accurate accounting for markets supported in the JCAP region. You will partner with Local Finance teams to align with US GAAP, local statutory and tax requirements, and maintain a robust control environment.

You will lead global and regional AtR activities, coordinate with BPO partners for GL, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring timely, compliant financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 8 years in finance or accounting in a multinational company with US and ex-US GAAP exposure.
• Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role (people manager).
• Business-level English speaking and writing.
• Business-level fluency in Chinese (Mandarin).
• Experience in shared services or migrations projects including knowledge transfer and project management.
• Ability to lead through change, maintain focus and deliver accuracy under pressure.
• ERP experience and SAP proficiency, with strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise general ledger activities and period-end close for the JCAP region.
• Manage General Ledger and AtR sub-process activities.
• Implement policies and controls to ensure accurate services to customers in JCAP.
• Ensure all transactions are reflected in the entity ledger.
• Direct timely period reporting per corporate and country requirements.
• Oversee outsourced GL activities and monitor monthly performance.
• Administer monthly reconciliations and adhere to corporate standards.
• Lead process improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
