Job summary

Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, is seeking a Specialist – Accounting to Reporting (AtR) to ensure US GAAP-compliant accounting for the AP region and to support month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.

You will work with local finance teams to ensure accurate records and will collaborate with Global Finance Teams to maintain a robust control environment and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 4 years in a finance or accounting department of a multinational company including US and ex-US accounting.
• Business-level English skills (speaking and writing) required.
• Experience with SAP and familiarity with US GAAP and non-US GAAP environments.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and working with global cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provide general ledger support and period end close responsibilities for the AP region.
• Support General Ledger and other AtR sub-process activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting ledgers reflecting country transactions.
• Ensure transactions are reflected in the ledger on a country basis.
• Ensure accurate and timely period reporting per corporate and country requirements.
• Perform monthly Account Reconciliation processes timely, adhering to standards.
• Identify opportunities to streamline services and participate in projects.
• Collaborate with team members across finance and business disciplines.
