Job summary

CHERY CORPORATE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and to support cost accounting within a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with CPA/CMA preferred, and 2–4 years in cost analysis or financial reporting. Strong ERP skills (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel are essential for success.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.

Job description

Lead and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities

Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies

Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules

Assist in consolidations (if applicable)

2. General Ledger Management

Maintain integrity of the general ledger

Review and approve account reconciliations

Monitor intercompany transactions

Ensure proper coding and classification of expenses

3. Compliance & Controls

Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS and company policies

Support internal and external audits

Maintain and improve internal controls

Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting

4. Process Improvement

Identify and implement accounting process improvements

Support ERP system enhancements and automation initiatives

Develop documentation for accounting procedures

5. Analysis & Support

Perform variance analysis and explain fluctuations

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Provide financial analysis to management

Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and standards

Support for month end closing activities

Support cycle count, mid-year count and year end physical count

Add ad hoc task assign by Finance Manager

Job Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.

Certifications (Preferred): CPA, CMA, or equivalent.

2–4 years in cost analysis, or financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of Finance manufacturing operation and cost accounting principles.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Analytical and problem-solving skills for cost variance analysis.

Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.

Able to follow and execute instructions.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
