Job summary

CHERY CORPORATE MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Project Management Executive to coordinate cross‑functional projects in manufacturing, including scheduling, budgeting, and readiness activities.

The role involves liaising with Production, Quality, Engineering, IT, and procurement to ensure timely handover and completion of projects. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years’ experience in project or manufacturing engineering, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Project and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of project management experience in manufacturing or automotive environments.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and external suppliers is advantageous.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and action plans.
• Coordinate project activities from project initiation through to completion and handover.
• Monitor project progress against approved timelines, scope, budget, and deliverables.
• Identify project risks, constraints, and potential delays, and coordinate mitigation actions.
• Ensure project documentation and records are properly maintained.
• Support projects related to new model introduction, production line setup, capacity expansion, plant modification, automation, equipment installation, and process improvement.
• Coordinate plant readiness activities involving Production, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Maintenance, IT, Procurement, and other relevant functions.
• Follow up on equipment installation, commissioning, trial production, and production readiness activities.
• Coordinate project activities with contractors, suppliers, vendors, and external parties.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as the key coordination point between project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular project meetings and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Prepare project status reports, management updates, and escalation reports.
• Ensure clear communication of project requirements, changes, risks, and decisions.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

• Track project KPIs including Time, Cost, Quality, Scope, Safety, and Readiness.
• Prepare weekly/monthly project progress reports.
• Maintain project dashboards, action trackers, Gantt charts, and milestone tracking.
• Highlight critical path activities and potential delays to management.

5. Project Closure & Handover

• Coordinate final project completion, acceptance, and handover to the relevant plant functions.
• Ensure all outstanding issues and punch-list items are closed.
• Complete project documentation, lessons learned, and final project reports.
• Ensure assets, equipment, documents, and processes are properly handed over to operations.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in project management, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or automotive manufacturing.

Experience in automotive manufacturing or production plant projects is preferred.

Experience managing cross‑functional projects and external suppliers/contractors is an advantage.
