Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Member of Technical Staff in Product Development Engineering to advance full-chip test methodologies, on-chip DFT, and silicon debugging across FPGA products.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop ATE programs, drive continuous test optimization, and mentor engineers to ensure robust test capability and high product quality throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuits and FPGA product development and test methodologies.
• Proficiency in TCL and PERL scripting with debugging and problem solving skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across global teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering high-performance teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, verify, and optimize full-chip test methodologies, including on-chip DFT strategies and test vector generation.
• Design and implement automated test equipment (ATE) programs with high accuracy and scalability.
• Lead first-silicon debug activities, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, software, manufacturing, and product engineering across the lifecycle.
• Drive test cost reductions and quality enhancements through process improvements.
• Develop test modules and convert test patterns from STIL to pobj, validating programs on testers.
