Job summary

Altera in Penang, Malaysia, seeks an experienced FPGA validation engineer to design and execute post-silicon validation strategies, develop lab test environments, and quantify performance, power, and functionality for product release.

You will collaborate with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to implement validation plans, write test content in Python/Verilog, and troubleshoot silicon bring-up from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in post-silicon validation methodology, test planning, test development and debug.
• Solid understanding of FPGA validation methodologies with hands-on experience in system validation and debug.
• Knowledge of FPGA architecture is an advantage.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python and Verilog (plus).
• Experience with high-speed test and measurement equipment (V93K tester, oscilloscope, power supply).

Responsibilities

• Defines and develops FPGA-based designs and validation methodologies to mimic customer use models.
• Develops lab-based test environments and synthetic content to characterize functionality, performance and power for product release.
• Applies hardware and software tools to ensure functional coverage and meet performance goals.
• Implements FPGA design flows and validates trade-offs between architecture and design alternatives.
• Debugs silicon bring-up issues and documents solutions from prototype to production.
• Collaborates with architecture, design, software, firmware, and tools teams to define validation strategy and drive execution.
