Job summary

NMQ Digital, a Dutch-rooted, globally active partner, seeks a Global Senior Financial Accountant to oversee day-to-day finance operations from Kuala Lumpur. You will handle corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, budgeting, forecast prep, and internal controls for a global business footprint.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
• 4 (Minimum) to 6 (Maximum) years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
• Working in an accounting firm is a must.
• Advanced degree in accounting.
• CPA or CMA is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Experience with foreign accounting policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including GL and Counsel, Payroll Accounting, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Fixed Asset Register, and Revenue Recognition
• Analyzing financial data and results
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Support the month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Assist and support in the consolidated audit
• Additional controller duties as necessary
• Adhere to company information security policies and complete required security awareness training

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you oversee the day-to-day operations of a company’s finances. You are responsible for all accounting functions and bookkeeping, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and internal control policies and procedures, which gives you great power in the business’s success. While this position is based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be working as a Global Senior Financial Accountant which means you will be working on a global scale. If you have experience with foreign accounting policies and working in a global team, this is a plus!

The working hours are from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Malaysia time for this role.
