Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Senior Specialist (Statutory Reporting & Audit) to join our remote-enabled team in Malaysia.

The role focuses on statutory bookkeeping, coordinating with external auditors, and supporting monthly and quarterly financial reporting for Europe entities. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience, strong English communication, and proficiency in Excel; SAP knowledge is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification.
• Minimum working experience of 3+ years, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.
• Excellent communication skills & proficient in English.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint). SAP user knowledge is an added advantage.
• Possess strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Results oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player.
• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for statutory book keeping for entities or countries assigned (mainly Europe countries).
• Require working with outsourced local accounting firm to work on the statutory financial statements.
• Dealing with external auditor – to discuss the audit timeline, agree on the audit scope and coordinate audit requests.
• Require interaction with teams from other functions to understand business process and gather supporting documents.
• Analysis on balance sheet items and support monthly/quarterly reporting requirement.
• Monthly closing activities (preparing & posting journal entries, analyzing financial statements & ledger activities), balance sheet reconciliations.

We are currently seeking a Accounting Senior Specialist (Statutory Reporting & Audit) to join our team in Fully remote, Malaysia, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia (MY).

Position Overview

• Individuals have a deep understanding of their own area and some understanding of related subject areas.
• They manage critical projects or larger customer contracts with general direction and may allocate some work to others. Recommends department process improvements.
• Participates in department projects (strategic, tactical and control) where strong analytical skill is required.
• Assists internal and/or external audit process as required.
• Develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
• Works on critical client accounts and collection issues.
• Addresses escalated outstanding account balances.

Statutory Accounting – Position’s General Duties & Tasks

• The successful candidate will be responsible for statutory book keeping for entities or countries assigned (mainly Europe countries).
• Require working with outsourced local accounting firm to work on the statutory financial.
• Dealing with external auditor – to discuss the audit timeline, agree on the audit scope and coordinate the audit requests from the auditor with internal functions, close audit issues, draft financial statement, ensure FS is signed and filed within the deadline.
• Require interaction with teams from other functions to understand the business process and gather the supporting documents required by the auditor.
• Analysis on balance sheet items and support monthly/quarterly reporting requirement.
• Monthly closing activities (i.e. preparing & posting journal entries, analyzing financial statements & ledger activities), prepare balance sheet reconciliations, fluctuation
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members.
• Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policy and up-to-date with the new accounting standards.
• Involve in continuous process improvement and simplification project.
• Support internal & external audit.
• Support corporate income tax filing.

Qualifications
