Job summary

Sime Darby Motors is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage monthly closings, budgeting, and financial reporting. The role involves supervising finance staff, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving system enhancements to support accurate accounting across departments.

Ideal candidates hold a qualified accounting credential with at least five years in corporate and operations finance, and strong interpersonal and systems development skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant and preferably a member of a professional accounting body.
• At least 5 years working experience in Corporate Finance and Operation Finance.
• Working knowledge of an integrated accounting system and aptitude for systems development.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Close monthly accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly reporting.
• Review reconciliations to ensure correct accounting treatment and no long outstanding items.
• Ensure timely submission for statutory reports, monthly/quarterly management reports, audits and ad hoc reporting.
• Monitor, review and interpret accounting for revenue and expenditures by departments.
• Supervise Finance staff, including work allocation, training, and problem solving.
• Participate in system implementation and maintenance.
• Respond to queries from departmental heads on system/operations financial matters.
• Maintain and create chart of accounts; monitor accounting information in the finance system.
