Job summary

aCommerce in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Finance Executive with 5+ years of hands-on accounting and finance experience to manage the full spectrum of finance operations. The role emphasizes timely reporting, process improvements, and strong internal controls.

You will handle monthly closings, financial reporting, AP/AR oversight, GL reconciliation, inventory governance, and compliance. The candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and fluent in English, with excellence in Excel.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance roles; audit experience is preferred.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive team player with good communication skills.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for management review.
• Oversee AP and AR processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with internal teams or customers when necessary.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all entries.
• Inventory reconciliation and governance with operations and warehouse teams.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax agents during interim and year-end audits.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and strengthen internal controls.
• Work with multiple departments to resolve finance-related matters.
• Assist with financial analysis and special projects as required.
