Job summary

TE Connectivity Ltd. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer - RF Antenna & Connector (Hybrid) to support IoT customers and channel partners.

You will provide technical product selection advice, design-in assistance, and cross-functional collaboration with sales, engineering, and marketing to drive design-wins and growth across APAC. Travel 25-50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years direct customer-facing technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of RF, antennas and connectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for new products based on customer applications.
• Conduct VOC sessions to determine requirements for development and design-in.

Job Overview

The IoT Sales Team within TE Connectivity Data & Devices Business Unit has an opportunity available for Field Application Engineer. In this role, you will support the IoT customer base both direct and via channel partners.

The FAE will serve as a technical resource for our customers and distributors engineers, account managers and marketing managers by providing product selection advice, design-in assistance, product application information, and general sales support to maximize design-wins. You will be a significant interface between the DDN Sales Team, TE Channel Business Unit and our customers and distributors. This role will report to the Sr. Sales Manager APAC.

Job Responsibilities

• Identifying opportunities for new products to be developed based on customer applications.
• Conducting Voice of the Customer (VOC) sessions with customers to determine requirements for new development & design in TE Product activities. Liaising with PM organisation to work on new products based on requirements gathered in VOC sessions.
• Contribute to develop new technologies, translate them in customer solutions and drive projects in collaboration with internal team’s forwards toward a WIN.
• Understanding the portfolio of existing products that can be used in customer applications.
• Understanding industry standards that apply to customers and their products (i.e., IEC, UL, etc.)
• Assessing technical complaints from customers and working with the TE Connectivity engineering & quality team to provide solutions.
• Identifying future industry trends and working with Product Management function to develop product and technology roadmaps.
• Working closely with the Account Manager responsible for the region translating opportunities into a technical and commercial win.
• Being accountable for Pipeline growth (identification and conversion) across the responsible customer.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in technical field required (Electrical or Electronics Engineering preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to provide effective project leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Prior experience working directly with customers in a technical setting (At least 3 years)
• Knowledge of RF/Antenna, Connectors, and general manufacturing processes of stamping, molding, plating, and automated product assembly desired.
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn and step up to the challenge.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with exceptional listening skills.
• Ability to work as a global member of a customer facing team to identify new opportunities.
