Job summary

TE Connectivity Manufacturing Malaysia seeks a Customer Process Engineer to act as the technical bridge for integrating TE products into customer manufacturing environments. You will support design reviews, PPAP, and startup phases, while translating customer processes into TE specifications and providing training to customers and internal teams.

The role requires engineering education, 5+ years of relevant experience, Mandarin fluency, and travel across Penang, Johor, and Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or master's preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Mandarin fluency required; English is a plus.
• Experience in design reviews, tolerance analysis and RCA.
• Experience with PPAP and production startup.
• Understanding of SMT, PCB processes, cable routing and interconnect.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards related to interconnects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical bridge between TE and customers, supporting TE products in customer manufacturing environments.
• Establish and review product requirements with customers during development cycles.
• Develop TE product application expertise from customer processes and translate to TE teams.
• Craft Application Spec documents and align with customers on final specs.
• Conduct signoff reviews for NPIs with TE and customers.
• Collaborate with TE engineering to integrate customer parameters into TE specs.
• Create application notes and training materials for customers and TE staff.
• Provide internal training on new process technologies used by customers.
• Assist customers with test methodologies and ensure alignment with TE methods.
• Provide onsite support during multiple NPI stages and relay feedback to design engineers.

Job description

A Customer Process Engineer serves as the critical technical bridge between TE Connectivity and its customers, supporting the integration of TE's connector, cable, cartridge, and power products into customer manufacturing environments while driving customer satisfaction, resolving assembly and production challenges, and providing process expertise throughout product development, trial runs, and mass production.

Key responsibilities

Establish key customer care abouts and contributes & reviews the product requirements

Conducts joint design reviews between TE and customers during product development cycles to ensure product specifications are properly defined

Develop expertise in how TE products are applied based on Customer's manufacturing processes and translate customer's assembly process to TE product design teams

Assist with crafting TE Application Spec documents and collaborate early and align with customers on TE's final Application Spec

Conducts signoff review between TE and Customer for NPI products

Works with TE engineering to integrate customer application parameters into TE product and application specifications

Creates application notes, training materials, or documentation to help customers understand how to use TE products and provides product application training

Provides internal training to TE product and FAE groups showing new process technologies that our customer base is utilizing or experimenting with

Assists customers with Test methodologies to test TE products and ensures TE test methodologies are consistent with Customer's requirements

Provides onsite support during multiple NPI stages and ensures feedback is provided to TE design engineers

About you

Engineering in degree / master background preferred

Minimum of 5 and aboveyears of relevant working experience

The candidate must be fluent in Mandarin to effectively communicate with customers from China. Proficiency in English is an added advantage.

Experience with design reviews, tolerance analysis and root cause problem-solving

Experience in PPAP and production startup

Ability to assist the Quality group in understanding potential areas of concern and the ability to relay data back to the product design teams

Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards related to interconnect

Proficiency in Creo, Ansys and test lab equipment

Must understand the SMT processes, pick and place equipment, robotics, cable routing and general PCB processes and procedures

Ability to assess and collaborate with customer manufacturing teams during product design phase

The position requires extensive travel within Penang customer sites, Johor, and Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand

Candidates with experience in data communications, networking, server, storage or related industries will have an added advantage.
