Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking an experienced Customer Process Engineer to support Data Communication customers. You will act as a technical liaison, bridging TE product development with customer manufacturing needs in high-speed interconnects and connectivity solutions.

Responsibilities include joint design reviews, translating customer processes into TE specifications, creating application notes, and providing onsite support during NPIs with travel across Penang and Southeast Asia.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in customer-facing engineering roles.
• Mandarin fluency required to communicate with China-based customers; English is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical liaison between TE and customers; align TE products with customer manufacturing needs.
• Lead joint design reviews to define product specifications (Design Objectives).
• Translate customer assembly processes into TE design requirements and Application Spec documents.
• Develop TE application notes and training materials; provide product training to TE teams and customers.
• Provide onsite support during NPIs and trials; collect feedback for TE design teams.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s is looking for an experienced Customer Process Engineer (CPE) to support our customers in the Data Communication market.

A Customer Process (Mfg.) Engineer serves as a critical technical liaison between TE and its customers, ensuring that TE’s interconnected products are effectively integrated into our customer’s manufacturing environments. This role focuses on driving customer satisfaction and product performance by bridging TE’s product development efforts with real-world application needs in high-speed interconnects and connectivity solutions.

Job Requirements

• Good communicator, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with global internal teams and customers.
• Establish key customer care abouts and contributes & reviews the product requirements.
• Conducts joint design reviews between TE and customers during product development cycles to ensure product specifications are properly defined (Design Objectives).
• Ability to work with local FAE and product engineering teams on new concepts.
• Develop expertise in how TE products are applied based on Customer’s manufacturing processes. Translates customer’s assembly process to TE product design teams, assisting with crafting TE Application Spec documents. Collaborates early and aligns with customers on TE’s final Application Spec. Conducts signoff review between TE and Customer for NPI products.
• Works with TE engineering to integrate customer application parameters into TE product and application specifications.
• Creates application notes, training materials or documentation to help customers understand how to use TE products. Provides product application training.
• Provides internal training to TE product and FAE groups showing new process technologies that our customer base is utilizing or experimenting with for future development.
• Assists customers with Test methodologies to test TE products. Ensures TE test methodologies are consistent with Customer’s requirements.
• Provides onsite support during multiple NPI stages. Ensured feedback is provided to TE design engineers.
• Must understand the SMT processes, pick and place equipment, robotics, cable routing and general PCB processes and procedures.
• Assess/collaborate with customer manufacturing teams during product design phase.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that customers encounter with TE products during trials and production.

What Your Background Should Look Like

• Engineering degree / master background preferred
• Minimum of 5 and above years of relevant working experience
• The candidate must be fluent in Mandarin to effectively communicate with customers from China. Proficiency in English is an added advantage.
• Experience with design reviews, tolerance analysis and root cause problem-solving.
• Experience in PPAP and production startup.
• Ability to assist the Quality group in understanding potential areas of concern and the ability to relay data back to the product design teams.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards is related to interconnect.
• Proficiency in Creo, Ansys, and test lab equipment.
• The position requires extensive travel within Penang customer sites, Johor, and Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand
• Candidates with experience in data communications, networking, server, storage, or related industries will have an added advantage.
