Job summary

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) Malaysia is seeking a skilled HR/Payroll professional to manage monthly payroll, statutory submissions, and employee lifecycle processes in Kuala Lumpur.

The role requires hands-on payroll expertise, strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, and experience with HR systems. You will liaise with government agencies, handle employee HR enquiries, and maintain ISO HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin or related field.
  • At least 5 years of HR experience with strong payroll processing exposure.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian employment laws incl KWSP, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN, HRDC.
  • End-to-end payroll processing, including verification and disbursement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with HR2000 or other payroll/HR systems preferred.
  • Visa/work permit and tax clearance experience is an advantage.
  • Familiar with ISO HR documentation requirements.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process monthly payroll accurately and compliantly.
  • Prepare, verify, and submit statutory contributions to KWSP, SOCSO, LHDN, etc.
  • Liaise with government agencies and external parties on HR/payroll matters.
  • Handle employee HR enquiries and provide timely support on payroll, benefits, leave, and attendance.
  • Oversee full employee lifecycle: offers, onboarding, promotion, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ISO-relevant documents.
  • Administer visa applications and renewals for staff as required.
  • Monitor attendance records and prepare attendance reports for management.
  • Manage monthly employee insurance registrations and updates.
  • Handle tax clearance and refunds for staff as needed.

This role involves managing and processing monthly payroll accurately, ensuring compliance with employees' benefits, company policies, and the latest employment regulations. You will prepare, verify, and submit statutory contributions and payroll-related documents to KWSP, SOCSO, LHDN, EIS, HRDC, and other relevant authorities. You will liaise with government agencies and external parties on HR, payroll, statutory, and employment-related matters when required, and handle employees' HR enquiries providing timely support on payroll, benefits, leave, attendance, and other HR matters.

Key responsibilities

Manage and process monthly payroll accurately, ensuring compliance with employees' benefits, company policies, and the latest employment regulations

Prepare, verify, and submit statutory contributions and payroll-related documents to KWSP, SOCSO, LHDN, EIS, HRDC, and other relevant authorities

Liaise with government agencies and external parties on HR, payroll, statutory, and employment-related matters when required

Handle employees' HR enquiries and provide timely support on payroll, benefits, leave, attendance, and other HR matters

Manage the full employee lifecycle, including issuance of offer letters, onboarding, orientation, confirmation, promotion, transfer, and offboarding

Maintain accurate and well-organized employee records, HR documentation, and ISO-related HR documents

Manage visa applications and renewals for management and employees, ensuring timely and regulatory-compliant processing

Monitor and verify monthly attendance records and prepare attendance reports for management and employees

Manage monthly employee insurance registration and updates to ensure continuous coverage

Handle tax clearance and tax refund matters for management and employees

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience, with strong hands‑on experience in payroll processing

Good knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements, including KWSP, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN, and HRDC

Experience in end‑to‑end payroll processing, including payroll verification, statutory submissions, and salary disbursement

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel

Experience with HR2000 or other payroll/HR systems is an added advantage

Experience handling work permits/visas and tax clearance will be an advantage

Familiarity with HR documentation and ISO requirements is preferred

Good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills

Able to work independently, handle confidential information, and meet tight deadlines
