The Senior Executive (AI & Digital Education) at Sunway University provides technical and operational project coordination, supporting the implementation of the AI-powered Student Assistant in close collaboration with the Project Director, external technology partners, academic AI experts, and Information Technology Services (ITS), ensuring effective execution and delivery. In addition to the core project responsibilities, the role provides technical and operational support for selected AI and digital EdTech integration initiatives within the overall education portfolio, contributing to the University’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination for AI-powered Student Assistant
- Serve as the primary operational and technical coordinator and work closely with the project team in planning, execution and delivery activities, including meetings, documentations, timelines, milestones and deliverables, monitoring of operational issues, dependencies, and risks.
- Maintain project artefacts such as task trackers, decision logs, risk registers, implementation plans and progress updates.
AI & Systems Integration (Technical Support)
- Provide technical support for the integration of AI-enabled solutions into education systems and platforms.
- Assist with configuration, testing, and validation of AI functionalities and support pilot implementations, user acceptance testing, rollout planning and post deployment operational support.
Technical & Stakeholder Liaison
- Act as an operational bridge between users and technical teams and facilitate clear communication of requirements, issues and feedback across stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technology partners and academic AI experts on system development and integration, experimentation, infrastructure, security and deployment.
- Support AI and digital EdTech integration initiatives and assist with process mapping, documentation, and workflow improvements.
- Prepare operational updates, status reports and briefing notes for the consumption of Project Team Leads.
- Collect feedback and usage insights for continuous improvement, and assist in troubleshooting and enhancement of AI and digital solutions.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
- Experience supporting AI-enabled systems, digital platforms, or technology implementation projects is highly desirable.
- Good working knowledge of computing systems, AI concepts, and digital platforms.
- Experience supporting or coordinating technical or IT-enabled projects.
- Ability to translate user needs into technical or functional requirements.
- Comfortable working with both technical teams and non-technical users and able to operate effectively in a matrixed university environment.
- Strong organisational, documentation, and follow-through skills. Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
