Job summary

Western Digital Corp. is seeking a Senior Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering - Equipment for the Kuching, Malaysia site.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, installation, qualification, modification, automation, and continuous improvement to ensure reliable equipment performance. You will design and integrate mechanical, electrical, software, AI, and automation solutions to enhance process equipment capability and tooling performance.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Optical, Automation or related field).
Fresh graduates with relevant engineering qualifications encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Support equipment troubleshooting, installation, qualification, modification, and continuous improvement.
Develop equipment automation and upgrades using AI and latest automation technologies to improve stability, performance and productivity.
Prepare electrical drawings, wiring layouts, software debugging, and control systems for cleaning equipment.
Integrate different equipment modules to ensure stable and reliable operation.
Design, modify and assemble mechanical and electrical components to improve equipment performance for processes like square glass, chemical etch, and cleaning.
Develop maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing procedures for electrical and electronic components.
Perform equipment characterization and capability studies to ensure safety standards are met.
Support equipment design, modification, expansion, and automation projects.
Prepare and maintain SOPs, safety procedures, environmental requirements, and HIRAC documentation.
Provide technical and safety training and establish safety guidelines for technicians.
