Job summary

WD is seeking an Equipment Engineer in Sarawak Kuching to troubleshoot, install, qualify, modify, and continuously improve manufacturing equipment. The role focuses on integrating mechanical, electrical, software, and AI-driven automation to enhance process capability and reliability.

Responsibilities include developing maintenance procedures, safety standards, SOPs, and training for technicians, while collaborating with manufacturing and supplier teams to optimize cost of ownership.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• PREFERRED: Strong technical knowledge and hands-on equipment, automation, electrical/mechanical systems, or process equipment.
• Experience or interest in CMP, polishing automation, and AI-based process control.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, qualify, modify, automate, and continuously improve equipment across manufacturing lines.
• Develop and implement automation upgrades using AI and latest technologies to boost stability and productivity.
• Prepare electrical drawings, wiring layouts, and software debugging for process equipment.
• Collaborate with process, automation, and supplier teams to drive improvements.
