Job summary

Comet Group in Penang, Malaysia seeks a manufacturing engineer for the Plasma Control Technologies division to develop, optimize and maintain vacuum capacitor production processes, BOMs and work instructions. You will drive improvements to yield, quality and efficiency, partnering with cross-functional teams on new technologies.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years’ experience, with strong knowledge of vacuum capacitor technology, automation, and semiconductor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of vacuum capacitor technology, precision mechanics, automation systems and semiconductor equipment manufacturing.
• Experience with process optimization, SPC, and data-driven manufacturing improvement.
• Proficiency with ERP and project management tools like SAP and JIRA, and SolidWorks for 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and BOMs for vacuum capacitor production equipment.
• Improve equipment performance, reliability, quality, and yield through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues; conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Manage preventive maintenance, calibration, and certification activities to ensure operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and support efficient manufacturing operations.

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, and BOMs for vacuum capacitor production equipment.

• Experience using ERP and project management tools such as SAP and JIRA, along with proficiency in SolidWorks 3D mechanical modeling.
