Job summary

Comet AG in Penang's Plasma Control Technologies division seeks an RMA Assembly Technician to support RF-related assembly and testing in a high-tech environment.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot issues, maintain tools, and contribute to Lean manufacturing with cross-functional cooperation in a fast-paced production site.

Qualifications

• Technician Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or related high-tech environment.
• Strong knowledge of RF Matching Networks and RF Generators; hands-on in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, C++, Excel automation/macros; working knowledge of SAP and MES is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to interpret technical drawings and perform root cause analysis.
• Self-motivated, quality-driven team player in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly and testing activities in accordance with production work instructions, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
• Troubleshoot assembly, material, and equipment issues, perform minor rework and repairs, and support failure analysis to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation to support assembly processes and equipment troubleshooting.
• Maintain assembly tools, fixtures, and workstations by performing routine maintenance, following 5S standards, and ensuring equipment readiness.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve production, quality, and operational objectives.

RMA Assembly Technician

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do

• Perform assembly and testing activities in accordance with production work instructions, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.

What You Bring

• Technician Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing or a related high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly RF Matching Networks and RF Generators, with hands-on experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, C++, Excel automation/macros, with working knowledge of SAP and MES considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and perform root cause analysis.
• Self-motivated, quality-driven team player with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
