Job summary

bp is seeking a Senior ServiceNow GRC Developer in Kuala Lumpur to design, build, and support enterprise-scale GRC/IRM solutions. You will lead a team of developers, collaborate with risk, compliance, auditors, and product owners to deliver solutions that strengthen governance and regulatory readiness.

You will translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable technical workflows, advocate engineering best practices, and guide platform adoption across bp business entities in the region.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on ServiceNow GRC/IRM design and delivery.
• ITIL v4/v5 Foundation and CAD certification required.
• CIS certifications and additional ServiceNow certifications desirable.
• Experience with enterprise governance, risk and compliance programs.

ServiceNow GRC Senior Developer

You will work with:

You will be part of a growing hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and a growing team of ServiceNow skilled professionals at the hub. As a Senior Enterprise Technology Engineer in ServiceNow space will play a key role in designing and delivering high-quality, customer-focused solutions across multiple bp business entities.

This role focuses on ServiceNow GRC module, where you will lead the design, implementation, upgrades, and enhancements of complex product solutions. You will also guide a high-performing team of developers and engineers, partnering with business stakeholders, risk and compliance teams, auditors, architects and product owners to deliver innovative solutions that strengthen governance, improve regulatory compliance, and enhance organizational resilience.

What you will deliver:

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-scale ServiceNow GRC / IRM solutions that drive risk visibility, compliance effectiveness, audit readiness, and operational resilience.
• Lead the implementation and enhancement of ServiceNow GRC module
• Translate complex regulatory, compliance, governance and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and deliver integrated workflows that automate risk assessments, policy lifecycle management, compliance attestations, issue management, remediation tracking, and audit processes.
• Drive platform engineering excellence through reusable frameworks, code quality standards, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Security, Privacy, Legal, and Technology teams to deliver business-critical capabilities.
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives by delivering sustainable and scalable platform solutions.
• Influence technical architecture, governance standards, engineering roadmaps, and platform adoption strategies.
• Champion out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities, simplification, automation, and continuous improvement while minimizing technical debt.

What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications):

• Extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting ServiceNow IRM/GRC solutions in large and complex enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of ServiceNow GRC / IRM architecture, data model, platform capabilities, security model, and implementation best practices.
• Expertise in other ServiceNow core applications (ITSM, CSDM and CMDB) and scripting (Business Rules, Workflow, Script Includes, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs).
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, security, ACLs, data governance, and application lifecycle management.
• Experience designing integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, IntegrationHub, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Familiarity with various regulatory and compliance frameworks
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex platform, integration, data, and performance issues.
• Experience designing scalable and supportable solutions that align with platform best practices and long-term maintainability.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, influence design decisions, and guide delivery teams through complex implementations.
• Experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and driving engineering excellence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business outcomes into technical solutions.
• Passion for innovation, continuous learning, and adopting new ServiceNow capabilities.

Experience and qualifications:

• 8-10 years of professional development experience on ServiceNow, including at least 3 years in technical solution design and Agile delivery with team leadership.
• Certified ITIL v4 or v5 Foundation
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
• One or more ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
• Additional ServiceNow certifications in IRM, Security Operations, ITSM, or Platform Architecture are highly desirable.
• Experience with CMDB, CSDM, Service Mapping, AI/Now Assist, Employee Center, GRC and IRM module.
• Experience implementing enterprise governance, risk, compliance, audit, resilience, or security programs.
• Experience leading technical workstreams, major platform implementations, or large-scale enterprise transformations.
