Aerospace & Telecom Standard Ownership: Maintain system-wide compliance for specialized market sectors:
ISO 9001 (General Quality Management Systems)
AS9100 (Aerospace, Space & Defense Quality Management System)
TL 9000 (Telecommunications Quality System standard, including performance metrics reporting)
NADCAP Special Process Accreditation: Serve as the site technical lead for NADCAP audit preparation, execution, and closure across critical electronics assembly lines:
NADCAP AC7120 (Auditing Criteria for Circuit Card Assemblies / PCBA)
NADCAP AC7121 (Auditing Criteria for Cable & Harness Assemblies)
Audit Execution & Hosting: Plan and execute internal quality audits (IQA), process audits, and job audits against AS9100, TL9000, and NADCAP criteria. Serve as the primary plant representative during registrar certification audits, NADCAPPRI accreditation audits, and high-tier customer site assessments.
2. End-to-End Issue Ownership & Problem Solving
Tenacious Issue Closure: Independently track, manage, and push complex system non-conformances, operational bottlenecks, and systemic audit findings through to complete closure without requiring constant supervision.
Root Cause & CAPA Facilitation: Lead Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) through rigorous problem-solving frameworks—8D, 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and DMAIC—ensuring containment actions, true root‑cause determination, and robust systemic preventive measures.
Audit Response Submissions: Author, validate, and submit technical audit responses to external agencies (PRI/NADCAP, AS9100 registrars) within aggressive mandated timeframes, ensuring high acceptance rates on first submission.
3. Stakeholder Influence & Cross-Functional Governance
Influencing Without Authority: Act as an authoritative quality voice on the shop floor and in project reviews, successfully aligning Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and NPI teams to prioritize quality and compliance protocols over short-term production pressures.
Engineering Change & Configuration Control: Enforce strict Aerospace (AS9100) and Telecom (TL9000) configuration management and Engineering Change Notice (ECN/ECO) workflows via PLM/SAP systems.
Management Review & Performance Metrics: Compile TL 9000 measurement data (e.g., hardware/software defect rates, delivery performance) and host quarterly Management Review Meetings (MRM) to present site health status to senior management.
4. Process Integrity, ESD & Technical Oversight
Shop-Floor Compliance: Conduct regular floor audits across Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Wave/Selective Soldering, Conformal Coating, Testing, Cable/Wire Harness Crimping/Stripping, and Box Build to ensure strict compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20 and technical standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
NPI Gate Reviews & Risk Management: Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Quality Risk Assessments for new aerospace and telecom program transitions to guarantee seamless quality gate rollouts.
Quality Capability Building: Deliver targeted training on AS9100 FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) prevention, ESD controls, NADCAP technical compliance, and root cause methodology for engineers and technicians.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management,or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.Educational requirements may vary by geography.
Experience: Minimum 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in a QMS / Quality Systems role within an EMS / Contract Manufacturing environment handling PCBA and Cable/Wire Harness manufacture.
Multi-Standard Expertise: Direct experience managing or auditing against ISO 9001, AS9100, TL 9000, and NADCAP AC7120 / AC7121.
Audit Credentials: Certified/Trained Internal or Lead Auditor for AS9100 or ISO 9001 (IRCA accredited preferred); direct exposure to PRI NADCAP audits is highly advantageous.
Assembly & Wire Harness Standards: In-depth technical knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies).
Process Knowledge: Detailed understanding of SMT, AOI, ICT, Functional Testing, Conformal Coating, and Wire Harnessis highly advantageous.
Core Tools: Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D reporting.Knowledge of Six sigma and Lean Kaizen.
