KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage a group of Operation & Maintenance staff consisting of engineers, engineering assistants and technicians in Southern Region.
- Responsible for the planning and managing of the substation maintenance works to compliance with maintenance standard and policy to ensure good quality
- Prepare and perform switching according to the approved switching program including issuance/cancellation of EPTW
- Conduct training for the staff to perform troubleshooting, fault investigation and rectification works
- Respond to equipment breakdowns/outages and propose immediate solution
- Liaise and coordinate with Project Delivery Department on the Transmission Substation project implementation, able to advise and guide PDD
- Plan and propose yearly divisional revenue and capital budget
- Manage revenue and capital budget effectively toward substantial cost effectiveness and optimization
- Provide technical services to other stakeholders as and when required
- Carry out administrative works (procurement exercise, review new substation equipment designs and technical specifications)
- Monitor through data-analytics on the operational behavior of the equipment
- Responsible for developing & maintaining engineering practices (SOP, PPG, Guidelines, TAPL & Engineering Circulars)
- Drive Commercial, Digital, Operational & HSSE Excellence within the teams
THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
- Responsible for the effective operation and control of the EHV Substations to ensure their safe and reliable transmission and distribution of power
- Able to be relocate to any EHV Substation throughout Sarawak
- Manage, coordinate and supervise the team when respond to major breakdown and provide alternatives
- Respond, lead and guide the team to attend to breakdown in power system (EHV Substation equipment) on a 24-hour basis
- Lead and guide the team direction and objective toward Customer & Stakeholders Focus
- Leads with a clear sense of purpose, goals and roles to consistently deliver.
- Introduction of new technologies, standard and practices in maintenance and operation of the EHV substation
- Encourages an environment of sharing skills and abilities within work group to facilitate completion of the tasks
- Provides support and guidance to others within and beyond own team to ensure delivery of result
- Embraces networking to foster collaboration across organizational interfaces and able to outreach the expert in the field for technical matters
- Attend to breakdown in power system (EHV Substation equipment) on a 24- hour basis
- Maintain calm and consider every aspects of power system or control system during breakdown / troubleshooting
- Perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure
- Perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
- Perform all tasks in line with the Transmission Substations’ Business Continuity Management (BCM) and the BCM/BIA’s Coordinator roles and responsibilities procedure. To provide guidelines for establishing a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for Transmission Substations
- Perform all tasks in line with the Environmental, Occupational, Safety and Health (EOSH) guidelines and the roles and responsibility as EOSH Coordinator for each region
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 6 years’ relevant working experience in EHV Substation Primary Equipment
- Possess Switching 275kV Class 2 or Electrical Supervisor (up to 275kV Substation Equipment)
- Possess CIDB Green Card
